Principles Above Politics

We cannot solve problems with the same mentality that created them. The elitists measure success by growth. Growth in budgets, growth in the size of government. That growth is paid for by us, but it rarely benefits us.

It’s time for a fresh perspective to the problems facing Idaho. I believe there are timeless principles that produce natural consequences. It’s time to put principles above politics. I will have one standard to measure success; promises kept.

Here is the core principle which serves as a foundation for my entire platform; empowering individuals benefits society over the long-term. When you are empowered to reach for the very heights of your personal potential then your improving circumstances will be a benefit to your community. “A rising tide lifts all ships.”

This foundational principle is the ‘secret sauce’ that our Founding Fathers understood. It was a revolutionary idea in 1776 and it’s, sadly, revolutionary again today.

My sole aim is to secure the American Dream in Idaho and allow our state to rise to its noble position as a land that celebrates freedom and rewards hard work.

Government for the People

  1. Fight federal overreach
    • Begin the process of gradually refusing any federal grant money that would make Idaho beholden to federal agencies.
    • Start saying NO to the feds. We are reclaiming our state’s rights and giving power back to the people.
  2. End state government meddling
    • All government departments, agencies, and administrative rules will be within the confines of the U.S. and Idaho Constitution.
  3. Protect and promote Idahoan’s God-given rights as outlined in both the U.S. and Idaho Constitution.
  4. Government on the straight and narrow path
    • Establish a temporary agency (2-year maximum lifespan) to investigate and aid in the prosecution of government abuse and corruption.
    • Term Limits for the Governor and support Term Limits on the U.S. Congress. Citizen lawmakers instead of career politicians.
    • Ban all state agencies from hiring lobbyists to influence the legislature.

    • Cut the pork out of our budget by using line-item vetoes.

Eliminate Idaho Income Taxes and Boost our Economy

    1. Give all hard-working and retired Idahoans $3,000 more a year on average by eliminating income taxes entirely.
      • Permanently phase out state income taxes while ensuring there is no disruption to services.
    2. Include a Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights in the Idaho State Constitution
      • State income and sales tax cannot increase without approval from voters of Idaho first.
    3. More money in Idahoan’s pockets means higher wages and more opportunity.

    School Choice for Families

    1. Support traditional institutional school districts with a robust network of charter, private, and co-op schools so families can choose how their children are educated.
    2. Tax dollars follow the student (i.e., vouchers/education savings accounts).
      • Ensure homeschool families can utilize these funds without facing onerous government interference.
    3. Families should have the power to choose how their children are educated instead of federal agencies like the Department of Education with its failed Common Core experiment.

    4. Adopt President Trump’s 1776 Commission findings in all Idaho public schools.

    Ed On The Issues

    Pro-life:

America is facing the biggest human rights crisis of our time. In Idaho, over 1,500 babies are aborted each year. As Governor, I will do everything in my power to end this horrible crisis.

    Education:

We need real diversity, diversity in thought. A marketplace with a free exchange of diverse ideas will enable our state to be fertile ground for innovation and progress. Nothing will have a more positive impact on improving the amount of diverse ideas than school choice. Whether traditional institutional school, charter, private, or homeschool; we need to support families in how their children get educated. That allows Idahoan’s to ensure their values are taught to their kids and that the curriculum is one which will both refine them as individuals and prepare them for 21st century jobs.

    Taxes

Nothing chokes economic growth like taking money out of our pockets and using it to create more bureaucracy. My approach will boost the economy and allow retired folks to keep more of their hard earned money in their retirement accounts.

    Healthcare:

Healthcare: People in Idaho need to feel confident in our healthcare system. I will support effective and efficient healthcare infrastructure.

    2nd Amendment:

Our founding fathers knew we needed the right to bear arms to defend ourselves, both against criminals and a totalitarian government. It is my solemn promise that I will not allow ANY infringement on our 2nd Amendment right.

    Jobs:

Nothing will boost the economy and create better paying jobs than eliminating the income tax. If the average Idahoan has $3,000 more in their pocket then there will be more money spent on the goods and services our businesses provide. More sales means higher wages, more jobs, and more profits.

    Agriculture:

Idaho produces 185 different commodities on over 25,000 farms and ranches. Our state is vital for national security because we are a top producer in America of 10 different commodities such as potatoes, barley, and milk. We must protect and promote this vital industry to our economy and lifestyle.

    Idaho National Labs:

We are blessed to have a laboratory that brings and develops the best and brightest in nuclear energy. Our state has a rich history with nuclear energy. While we need to protect our lands, we will protect our lands best by continuing the pursuit for clean and abundant nuclear energy.

    Transportation:

Our roads need widening in numerous areas and projects need more support from our state government to allow construction to  be completed more quickly.
