The Problem

Shell Game – noun.

  1. A game in which a person hides a small object underneath one of three nutshells then shuffles them about on a flat surface while spectators try to guess the final location of the object.
  2. A fraud or deception performed by shifting conspicuous things to hide something else.

The Problem

A complex bureaucracy exists within layers upon layers of state government. There are 22 counties in America with larger populations than all of Idaho. Yet, our state government has 20 departments and 181 agencies

It’s like an iceberg with a small portion being visible. But hidden under the surface is a massive body which largely goes unseen.

Why does a state with 60%+ of the land owned by the federal government and a relatively small population have state sales taxes higher than 33 other states and income taxes higher than 36 other states?

It’s because of the shell game. Growth in government is a cost to those who pay for it. And boy, are we paying…

The real problem is the adoption of socialism in Idaho and across America. Socialist policies like economic planning and wealth redistribution now rule the day.

With each new rule, law, and mandate; you have less say in how you run your life and more to pay in taxes. Taxes for reasonable services is one thing, but in Idaho we have little to show for it.

One thing is certain, the state of Idaho has a hidden but massive spending problem.

Regular Idahoan's best interests are secondary to pursuing personal political agendas

    1. Our state universities teach ideologies counter to Idahoans values. Even worse, families have little power over how children are educated in public schools.

    1. Whether knowingly or not, some of our state government is supporting anti-American activists with our tax dollars. From special interest “science” to racist indoctrination, there is a taxpayer funded support structure to market socialist and communist ideas.

  1. Families and small businesses are at the mercy of unelected bureaucrats and activist “experts.”

Idaho's economic potential is endangered

    1. Rampant waste in government is sucking capital out of the private sector through excessive taxation. Each year the state government sits on growing piles of our cash and uses those funds to control more of our lives.

    1. Our state government is getting more comfortable with socialist policies, such as economic planning, which gives more power to unelected bureaucrats to dictate the details of our lives.

    1. Corruption, cronyism, and waste exist in some state agencies.

  1. Despite the best efforts of a part-time citizen legislature, the executive branch is more accountable to bureaucrats and corporate lobbyists than to the everyday citizens of Idaho.

My Plan

It’s simple; eliminate Idaho’s income tax, empower families with school choice, and forge a government for the people.
